How to measure your head
Using a soft tape measure, wrap it around the widest part of your head, over your hair. It should sit about a finger's width (3/4 inch) above your eyebrows, just above the ears and around the bump at the back of your head.
Measure in centimetres and repeat a couple of times for the most accurate size.

If you are between two sizes, round up to the larger size, or ideally try both to see which gives the snuggest fit. Sizes 55cm and below are classed as children's and are VAT exempt in the UK.
Kylo, Hyda and Phoenix helmets have a dial fit, so each size covers a range of head sizes.
Putting the helmet on
Place your forehead into the front of the helmet, then roll it backwards until you feel it lock onto the base of your skull. Run a finger around the rim to check for gaps. Adjust the chin strap first, then tie any back laces.
How it should fit
- Snug, with firm, even pressure all the way around and no pressure points or gaps
- Locks onto the back of the skull and sits level, about an inch above the eyebrows
- With the harness undone, it should not rock forwards or backwards
- The chin strap sits just under the chin, touching the bottom of the ear lobe, with room for one finger
- Wear it for 5 minutes so it can mould to your head and reveal any pressure points
Head shape
Most people have an oval head, but some are rounder. If a helmet doesn't feel right, try the Round Fit version or another model.

Children's helmets
Never buy a size up to grow into: a child's helmet must fit snugly every ride. Check it sits level, covering the forehead about an inch above the eyebrows, and the harness is done up with room for one finger under the chin.
